7 DAYS: THE BEAUTY OF CZECH REPUBLIC
PRAGUE – KARLSTEJN CASTLE – KARLOVY VARY – KUTNA HORA – PLZEN – CESKY KRUMLOV
Day 1: Prague - Arrival day
Welcome to Prague, capital of the Czech Republic. Upon arrival to Prague we will transfer you to your hotel and then you can enjoy leisure time. Overnight in Prague.
Day 2: Prague Sightseeing Tour
After breakfast you will be picked up and transferred by bus to start half day city tour. This day you will see famous Prague Castle, one of the biggest castles in the world. In fact, the castle building represents every architectural style of the last millennium. The Prague Castle includes Gothic St. Vitus Cathedral, Romanesque basilica of St. George, monastery and several palaces, gardens and defence towers. Most of the castle areas are open to tourists. Golden Lane, famous little street by the Prague Castle has a very special atmosphere. It is lined with small picturesque houses that look rather like dolls houses than people’s homes. They thrive with colours and the origin of some of them goes back to the 16th century. Franz Kafka, well-known writer also lived in the Golden Lane for some time during the World War I. You will also visit St. Vitus Cathedral, an excellent example of Gothic architecture. It is not only the biggest and the most important church in the Prague; it belongs to the biggest and the most beautiful in the world. Then we will stop at the Old Town Square and see remarkable Astronomical Clock; imposing St. Nicholas Church and Church of Our Lady before Tyn are really worth to visit as well. At the end of the tour we will transfer you back to the hotel. Overnight in Prague.
Day 3: Karlstejn Castle
We will pick you up from your hotel after breakfast. Today you will visit widely known Karlstejn Castle. This monumental Gothic castle was founded in 1348 AD by Charles IV. , Holy Roman Emperor and King of Bohemia and mostly functioned as the place for his relax and meditation. It is well preserved, with precious mural decorations in the Gold Chapel created by Master Theodoric, Gothic painter. After the tour we will drive you to Karlovy Vary for overnight.
Day 4: Karlovy Vary
After breakfast you will see the most remarkable town spa in Czech Republic. It is situated in a picturesque forested valley famous for its 12 thermal springs. Our first stop will be at the Moser Museum where you will hear the story about Moser glassworks mapping more than 155 years of its history. The Czech Republic has centuries lasting tradition of glass and crystal making and this is the ideal place to learn about it. Then, as you stroll through the city along the spa colonnades, you will have the chance not only to try the mineral springs but to taste the delicious local waffles and traditional herbal Becherovka liquor as well. In the evening we will drive you to Kutna Hora for overnight.
Day 5: Kutna Hora – Plzen
After breakfast the tour in Kutna Hora will start. Kutna Hora is the old mining town founded in the 13th century and it is famous for minting. You will visit the Gothic St. Barbara Cathedral with its valuable murals and the former royal mint which once coined so-called Prague groschen. Kutna hora has retained the character of medieval city to these days and rightly belongs to the most important UNESCO heritage sites in the Czech Republic. You will also visit a unique Ossuary, the small Roman Catholic chapel located beneath the Cemetery Church of All Saints in Sedlec - suburb of Kutna Hora. After the tour we will continue to Plzen, home and birthplace of Pilsner beer. Reputation earned by Pilsner Urquell brand - thanks to its inimitable taste - is world known. You will visit the brewery and its museum that documents brewery’s 150 year long history. Overnight in Plzen.
Day 6: Cesky Krumlov
After breakfast we will drive you to Cesky Krumlov. Situated on the banks of Vltava River, the town was built around a 13th century castle with Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque elements. It is an outstanding example of a small Central European medieval town; its architectural heritage has remained intact to its peaceful evolution over more than five centuries. After the tour we will transfer you back to the hotel in Prague. Overnight in Prague.
Day 7: Prague – departure
After breakfast check out from your hotel and transfer to the airport.
